The Manchester City star refused to speak about his international future with Belgium as they crashed out of Euro 2024 on Monday after going down 1-0 against France in the round of 16. Jan Vertonghen's unfortunate own goal towards the end of the game ended De Bruyne's dream of winning an international trophy.

The midfielder earned his first national team cap in 2010 at the age of 19 when he made his debut in a friendly clash against Finland. In the last 14 years, Belgium's stature in international football rose dramatically, but they never managed to win a major trophy despite earning the favourites and dark horses tag on multiple occasions.

Speaking to after his side's loss to France on Monday, the 33-year-old said: "It's too early to say. Let me process this first. First a good holiday and then I'll think about the future."
