West Brom may look rather different next season if they are promoted to the Premier League.
Indeed, the Baggies will be in a position to bring in a few big names if they receive the huge windfall that comes with promotion to the Premier League.
However, even if they don’t go up, there’s one change that seems inevitable at The Hawthorns as one veteran player has stated that he doesn’t expect to be at the club next season.
What’s the story then?
Brunt spoke about his future at the Midlands club this week, and it seems as though he’s come to terms with his impending departure from the club.
“Obviously I don’t overly expect to be at West Brom next season based on this season but you know strange things happen in football. It’s frustrating not playing but when the teams are winning games you can’t really argue,” said Brunt.

“From a personal point of view, I want to play as much as I can and I know I don’t have that many more years left in me and you do want to play as much football as you can,” he added.
About time
It’s sad to say it about a man who has played over 400 times for West Brom, but it’s about time Brunt moved on from Albion.
He’s played just 38 minutes of football for the Baggies this term, and they seemingly have no use for the 35-year-old anymore.
Nobody will forget how good of a servant he has been at The Hawthorns over the years, but all good things have to come to an end, and it seems as though time is up for Brunt.
As he says, strange things happen in football, and they may want to keep him on for another season, but that wouldn’t be the right choice at this point of his career, especially when he’s saying that he wants to play as much football as possible.
Brunt has more than paid his dues at West Brom, and he deserves the chance to spend the final years of his career playing the sport he loves, not sitting on a substitutes bench.
In other news, West Brom’s summer priority has been made clear to them.
