According to TEAMtalk, Aston Villa are nearing a move for Watford’s Isaac Success, with the attacker heading for Villa Park on a season-long loan.
What’s the story?
Villa were expected to lose a number of their star players this summer, but fresh investment came at the right time, and the club are now in a much better financial position.
Jack Grealish is believed to now be staying at the Championship club, whilst James Chester has already committed his future to Steve Bruce’s side.
Villa made the perfect start to the new Championship campaign as they recorded a 3-1 win at Hull City on Monday night, and now Bruce wants to give his team a lift ahead of this weekend’s home game against Wigan Athletic.
According to TEAMtalk, Villa are nearing the loan signing of Watford’s Success, who has seemingly been seemed surplus to requirements at Vicarage Road once again.
The 22-year-old has only just returned to the Hornets following a loan spell at Malaga, and is now reportedly heading for the Championship.
Would Success be a good signing?
There is an argument to be made that the arrival of Success is bad news for the likes of Andre Green and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, who have both been tipped for big seasons at Villa.

The Championship outfit have lost Robert Snodgrass this summer, however, and the arrival of Success at this stage of the transfer window would give the club a huge boost.
Success actually cost Watford £12.5m from Granada in the summer of 2016, but he has only scored once in 20 appearances for the Premier League club.
As mentioned, the attacker ended last season on loan at relegated Malaga – registering one assist in nine La Liga appearances for the Spanish outfit.
Success has found it tough in English football, but the 5ft 11in Nigerian has the pace and power to frighten the life out of Championship defences.
Indeed, if Bruce can get Success confident and firing then he could turn out to be a serious player in the second tier of English football.
