According to The Mirror, former Borussia Dortmund and Ajax boss Peter Bosz is being lined up as a replacement to Mark Hughes at Southampton.
The Saints have failed to register a win in their last nine league games, and are languishing in 18th place in the Premier League. The team have only managed one league win this season, the joint fewest in England’s top four leagues, and Hughes looks very likely to get the sack in the coming days.
The Dutchman Bosz has been without a job since December 2017, after being sacked by Dortmund, and will surely be looking to revive his career. He has not necessarily proven himself as a manager that can take over a high-profile club in Europe, but Southampton would still be a great challenge for him.
The Saints have a lot of talented players in their ranks, and perhaps Hughes has failed to get the best out of his players. Bosz may be the man to unlock the potential of the south coast club with his brand of football. The former Feyenoord midfielder has become categorised with energetic, attacking football, which is something that the fans at Southampton will be desperate for. As many newcomers in the Premier League have shown in recent seasons, teams in the bottom half of the table should not be averse to playing attacking football, and Bosz could be the man to provide this for Southampton.
The Dutchman will surely want a new challenge to pick his career back up, and a team that are in a dire slump at the moment may be the perfect place to redeem himself.
