Fulham were beaten 1-0 by Dutch side Twente in the Europa League, with coach Martin Jol unhappy with the result.
The game looked to be heading into a stalemate, but a Marc Janko goal for the Eredivisie team with only a couple of minutes to go ensured that the Cottagers return to London empty handed.
The defeat means that Twente move to the top of Group K, a point clear of Fulham with one game to play.
Jol was disappointed with the manner of his team’s defeat in his homeland, and has picked up a number of injury concerns.
“That’s always disappointing because in the second-half we did well defensively from their crosses,” he told the club’s official website.
“Normally we’re very good at defending crosses so that was harsh.
“We put on [Pajtim] Kasami for [Moussa] Dembele, who had asked for a substitution, then you hope to keep the ball in their half – but we couldn’t do that and they broke and scored.
“[Damien] Duff has got a problem with his calf, he was out for two weeks then he came back but it’s the same problem. Dembele hopefully is fine. Damien could be a problem for Monday [against Liverpool] but I expect Moussa to play,” he concluded.
Fulham host Danish team OB Odense in their last game of the group, and know that a positive result will still send them through to the last 32.
