Louis van Gaal has opened up on his time at Manchester United, and his comments about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have really riled the Old Trafford faithful.
In an interview with The Guardian, van Gaal revealed all on his failures in Manchester, the infrastructure at the club and its current state.
While fans will have no doubt appreciated his comments about Ed Woodward, they have taken serious exception to his judgement on the new boss.
Van Gaal of course was sacked and replaced by Jose Mourinho in 2016, after winning the FA Cup and finishing behind Manchester City only on goal difference.
Mourinho’s reign was also short-lived, and the ex-Chelsea boss was replaced by Solskjaer in December 2018.
Since then, the baby-faced assassin has enjoyed a wonderful winning run followed by a catastrophic spell of just two wins in 12 games in all competitions to end any successful William Hill 2019 offers, and van Gaal thinks the club made the wrong decision.
“I was very surprised he got the job in spite of the winning run at the start,” the Dutchman told The Guardian.
“Because Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world that needs a manager with experience.
“Not a manager who has trained at one or two teams and on a lower level.”
